The Twin Cities Premier Choice For Circuit Breakers + Electrical Panels

Did You Know ...

The average home has 20-30 circuit breakers, and electrical panels MUST have accurate labeling on the panel door, indicating which areas or appliances each breaker controls in the home.

Panel Age

We check the age of the panel to ensure proper functionality and compatibility with long-term, "future-proofing" parts.

Burns/Charring

Evidence of burns and/or charring is a very clear indication of immediate attention needed.

Double-Tapping

Double-tapped circuit breakers are an indication of poor electrical workmanship and are not within code compliance. You should not see wires inserted into the "holes" of the housing.

1. Assessment + Planning

We begin by listening to YOU, the homeowner, to fully understand, evaluate, and calculate your home’s electrical load requirements; then, we assess the existing electrical panel’s condition, detailed below:

2. Obtaining Permits

At Twin Cities Electric, you’re not hiring a ‘handyman’ … you’re partnering with Pete Cicconi, a Licensed Master Electrician and Licensed Electrical Contractor.

TCE’s attention to detail for code compliance and your home’s safety is unrivaled, which is precisely why we’ll ALWAYS obtain the proper permits from local authorities — this ensures our work is 100% licensed, warrantied, insured, and guaranteed-backed.

3. Disconnecting Power

Before any electrical panel work is performed, we will turn off power at the main disconnect to the home for everyone’s safety.

It is at this point that we will begin the work of repairing and/or upgrading your existing electrical panel to make sure it is properly functioning, up to code, and safe for you and your family to resume everyday life activities within and around your home.

*In the event you need and agree to an electrical panel replacement, we will proceed with that service.

4. Panel Replacement

We will safely remove the old panel and install the new panel while ensuring it’s properly grounded to prevent electrical hazard — this is accomplished by upgrading your grounding electrode system and installing intersystem bonding that is compatible, up to code for your utility company.

At this point, we highly recommend installing whole home surge protection.

Additionally, if we need to upgrade or replace wiring to meet the new panel’s specifications — or to comply with the current code — we will ensure this is done in a manner that does not interrupt your daily activities. You have a life, and we understand that.

5. Circuit Breaker Installation

The new circuit breakers will be installed in the new panel while ensuring they are properly sized and configured according to your home’s specific electrical needs.

Due to our white-glove approach to providing you with only the highest quality service, performance, and safety standard practices, we highly recommend upgrading to AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters, commonly known as Shock Guard) and GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters, commonly known as Fire Guard) circuit breakers if you do not already have them.

6. Circuit Labeling

Have you ever seen an old panel with random circuit breaker labels, and you have no clue “what does what” or “turn this and that off/on”? … yeah, so have we!

When we’re done labeling your new panel, there will be absolutely no confusion about what each and every circuit breaker connects to in your home.

This is often an overlooked and/or poorly done aspect of ‘local electrical handymen’ services.

7. Final Inspection

Rest assured, Twin Cities Electric gets it done right the first time — when we are entrusted into your home to work on your electrical systems, we take it seriously. We will make sure our work 100% complies with local codes and regulations.

8. Restoring Power

After the new electrical panel passes the inspection, we will turn the power on at the home and thoroughly test that all the circuits are functioning correctly.

9. Documentation

You know that story about a tree falling in the woods and someone hearing it? Yeah, we thought so …

At Twin Cities Electric, we certify and guarantee our work and provide you with detailed documentation regarding every aspect of the services we do for you.

When you work with us, you’ll never be left in the dark about a single thing — we look forward to you letting us brighten your day!a

Wiring + Electrical Panel

He came over the next day and spent 9 hours rewiring most of my house. It cost me $4300 and some change because the previous homeowner, “Mickey, Moused” the wiring, and at least I know my home won’t burn down now. Pete is very professional, and after 9 hours of working, troubleshooting, and even tired and sweaty will not stop until the job is done.ng elit. Troubleshooting

I called first thing in the morning due to an electrical issue, and Peter was at my house within hours. He and his apprentice found the issue, explained everything, made the fix, and cleaned up, and were just really, really nice. The problem came back, I let them know, and Peter came right back out first thing the next morning, checked it out, and found another issue to fix and solved the problem. Their rates are very reasonable, and I will use them again. Highly recommend this company!

Indoor Lighting

Pete and Layton were wonderful! I called, and they were able to come out the same day to give an estimate and begin work. We had some tricky new lights to install that required new electrical boxes, and they worked tirelessly to make everything fit and up to code. I also appreciated their honesty about some work that we wanted to do that wasn’t fully worth the investment based on what they saw. We would definitely recommend Pete if you are looking for an electrician.

Switches + Outlets

Peter and his team came out to replace some outlets and switches that needed to be updated. They were very professional and efficient with their time. They made sure all work was done to code. Great company! Great craftsmanship! Highly recommend!

Indoor Lighting + Troubleshooting

They really made sure to give me the VIP treatment. I have had several other electricians over the past year or so, and Pete is the only electrician who has shown me his license, insurance, and reviews. I have more work to be done, and Pete (Twin Cities Electric) is the only company I will call. Thanks, Pete and Leighton. It was truly a pleasure working with you!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Arcing + Charring

I experienced significant arcing on one of my outlets, which caused charring and emitted a strong, burnt plastic odor. Twin Cities Electric understood my concerns and sent a team out right away. They were obviously quite knowledgeable and conducted a thorough and professional inspection of the property. I felt much safer after they completed their walk-through! I highly recommend Twin Cities Electric, and I will definitely use them again!

Indoor Lighting

Pete did great work. He was easy to work with and took extra steps to minimize the work that needed to be done when the fixtures were removed. I have recommended him to others, and he will be my go-to electrician.

Wiring + Troubleshooting

Pete is very friendly, knowledgeable, and reliable. He charged a very fair price for the work he did fixing our strangely wired house and outlets. We would highly recommend him!
